SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

Join us on Wednesday, November 30 & Thursday, December 1st from 3-8pm in the Lilja Learning Commons!

Sponsored by Scholastic and hosted by the Lilja PTO, the book fair is an annual event to promote excitement and enthusiasm for reading. This year the library-turned-jungle will be filled with a thoughtful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level, including pre-k.

This year Lilja’s goal is $12,000 in sales. Please bring your child(ren) and shop together! All the dollars earned through the sale go toward purchasing new books and supplies for classrooms and the school library. Teachers and staff have selected and set aside books at the sale to enhance their class libraries. Look for their special wish boxes at the fair to contribute! Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. Look for the flyer in your child’s backpack for more information.

We always encourage volunteers for the fair! If you are able to help out for an hour during the fair, or with setup or cleanup, please sign up here!

THANKSGIVING DRIVE THANK YOU!

THANK YOU to all to all the Lilja families and staff who donated to our annual Thanksgiving Drive to benefit the Natick Service Council.  Our turkey gained all its feathers with every single classroom participating, along with the preschool and staff members.  It was a community effort, and we should be proud as we are a major supporter of the NSC’s Thanksgiving outreach.

Not only did we surpass our goal of $3000 for sponsoring 1 family per classroom  - that’s 22 large families - like we usually do, but together we collected a total of $4,375.16!!!!  The NSC will use this money to help so many families as they support our town’s community members in need - they have seen a 25% increase in demand, so a very sincere thank you for coming together. Thank you again for your generosity and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Kate Grzesiuk, Thanksgiving Drive Coordinator

PLIMOTH PATUXET FIELD TRIP

Field trips are back and the PTO is proud to help make them possible! Today, Lilja’s 3rd grade classes got a chance to visit Plimoth Patuxet to wrap up their social studies unit on Native peoples. Students explored Historic Patuxet, where they stepped inside a wetu (house), explored a recreation of a 17th Century English Village, and continued their learning about home and family life of Wampanoag communities in the 17th century.

FUN & GAMES FUNDRAISER

Mark your calendars for another early release day on Wednesday, December 14th, and plan for a visit to Fun and Games for arcade games & laser tag. Or, just grab a pizza for takeout!

Mention “Lilja” and the PTO will receive 20% of the profits from games, laser tag, & food and drink.
