Yearbook Coordinator Needed!

This wonderful memory book contains photos of all Lilja students and staff. If you are someone who likes to take pictures, or if you are looking for a volunteer opportunity outside the school day, we could use your help with the yearbook!

Our yearbook is published by Coffee Pond so you would work directly with them to get candids from school wide events included in the yearbook. You will work with Lilja teachers to be sure all students included in the yearbook have signed photo release permission. Without a coordinator the yearbook will only contain the class and individual photos Coffee Pond took on picture day.

Please email pto@liljapto.org

Mini Grant Feature! Grade Three and 3/4!

Dear PTO!

We are so grateful to have these materials for our Pilgrim and Wampanoag Unit. Attached is a picture of some of the work we have done with the materials. In this photo students are creating replica pottery from 17th century Massachusetts, engineering boats that are powered by wind to make a better Speedwell (the boat that leaked and sent the Pilgrims back to England before heading to the New World), and learning to make their own yarn and weave it as the 17th century White Settlers would have done. These experiences really help bring the learning to life. Thank you!

Best,

Lilja Third Grade and 3/4 Teachers

Your opinion matters to us!

We want to make you aware that our anti-bullying forum for community members, originally scheduled in November, has been moved to Family Engagement Night on December 11th at 7:00 pm at the Natick High School. This event will include:

  • 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Rotation through two focus groups to give feedback to us on website design and content and communication in general to parents (email, texts, phone, mailings) and your preferences for both

  • 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Meetings with parents from SEPAC who will help us with a book study group train-the-trainer model on the text Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in the Home: A practical guide for integrating the development of social-emotional skills into your parenting, (Ribas et al. 2018). Please contact SEPAC to express interest in becoming a book group facilitator.

  • 8:00 - 9:00 pm: All parents Anti-Bullying Forum and Information Session with all principals and all school leaders. Share questions and concerns about bullying in our community in this leadership listening session focused on solving problems and supporting school safety.

Babysitting can be provided with your RSVP to the event — please RSVP below.

It is our hope to have an evening of hearing from our families and sharing of our core values and needs as a community. Your attendance is valued and we hope to see you there.
