PTA Announcements

HFW Challenge
We would like to give a big Thank You to everyone who has chosen to participate in the HFW Challenge benefiting both our Lilja Lions and Dog Bones Therapy Dog Program! Your children will be taking their HFW tests in May, after which we will be sending home the pledge sheets again for donation collection. Maisy reading buddy winners will be announced after vacation. Practice your words and good luck Lions!

Box Tops for Education
Every Box Top is worth 10¢ for Lilja!  Print off a collection sheet or you can glue/tape Box Tops to any 8.5" x 11" paper. When your child has submitted collection sheets with 50 Box Tops, they'll earn a special prize, so be sure to include their name and class on the sheet!

Labels for Education
Lilja also collects Labels for Education. These do not need to be attached to a collection sheet. Simply send them in your child's folder or feed the lion in the Lilja lobby.

PTA Upcoming Events

Staff Appreciation
Please help the PTA show our incredible staff how much we appreciate their efforts during staff appreciation week! We will kick off the week with a luncheon on Monday, May 4th and follow it with a breakfast on Wednesday, May 6th. If you have any questions please contact Gina Arthur.
How Can You Help?

  1. Make a cash donation. We will use contributions to purchase items such as tablecloths, decorations, paper products, small gifts for the staff and any needed food items. You can send your donation into your child’s teacher or the PTA mailbox. Please label for Staff Appreciation. Checks should be made out to the Lilja PTA. We would greatly appreciate any donations and would love to receive them as soon as possible for planning purposes.
  2. Sign-up on the google doc for a food contribution for the luncheon and/or breakfast*.
  3. Volunteer your time. Both meals are prepared, set up and cleaned up by parent volunteers.

*Lunch items need to be brought in on Monday May 4, 2015 before 10:00 am. If you are bringing in an item that needs to be served hot, please bring it in as close to 10:30 as possible, ready to serve. The first group of teachers eat at 11:00 am. Breakfast items need to be delivered to school on Wednesday May 6, 2015 by 7:15 am. The staff arrives early!

PTA Meeting
Our next PTA meeting will be next Wednesday, May 6th at 7:00PM in the library. Our topic this month will be literacy. As always the PTA will be providing complimentary babysitting.

Outside Events

Brownie Troop Collection
Lilja Girl Scout Brownie Troop 65359 is currently running a Blanket and Pet Food Drive to support the animals at BuddyDog Shelter in Sudbury, MA. Troop 65359 will pick up the donation box the first week of May. Many Thanks for your thoughtful generosity! Questions can be directed to Carly Baker.

SPARK Contest
Dear Families!  "Share Your SPARK"  is SPARK Kindness' annual initiative to highlight kindness in Natick. Students (individuals or groups) Preschool through Grade 4 are encouraged to submit art work, essays and poetry.  This year's theme is the "3 Kindnesses:" (1) Kindness to Self; (2) Kindness to Others; and (3) Kindness to Nature.  Participants can focus on any of the 3 Kindnesses or all 3!  This is also a fun project for kids to work on over vacation. Submissions are due May 15th and there will be a Recognition Ceremony on June 6 with fun surprises!  For more information, go HERE.   For a video on WGBH-TV's Greater Boston featuring last year's campaign, go HERE. Thank you!
