Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend the Hoedown on Friday evening, it was a great event! A huge thank you to the wonderful dance committee for putting together a fun evening and new theme for our winter dance - Christine George, Heather Pilat, Penni Rochwerger and Laura Viale.
HFW Challenge new deadline
The Lilja Lions HFW Challenge has begun! Each Grade has a list of High Frequency Words that the children work towards mastering by the end of the year. 10 HFW from each level have been chosen as pledge words. 50% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be given to Dog B.O.N.E.S., of MA therapy dog program. Every child that turns in a pledge sheet will be placed in a lottery for a Reading Partner session with Maisy and Ms. Marcher. We have extended the deadline to turn in your pledge sheets to Friday, April 10th. To find out more about Dog B.O.N.E.S., please visit their website. The Lilja Fair has had a date change and will now be on Sunday, May 31st from 1:00-5:00 PM.

Early Release Pizza and Movie
April 7th we will be showing Big Hero at the event and it will run from 12:10-2:15PM. The registration deadline is this Thursday, April 2nd. Make sure to turn in your registration flyer.

Join us for our next meeting Wednesday April 8th at 7:00 PM. The topic will be multi-aged classrooms and is open to all families who would like to learn more about the current 1-2s and the new 3-4 classrooms being added at Lilja School. Please join us in the Lilja Library. Ms. Starkel, Ms. Quimby, Ms. Altchek and Ms. McEnaney will attend to answer any general questions that families may have about multiage classrooms and, more specifically, about the new 3-4s! The PTA will provide babysitting for both the book talk at 6PM and the PTA meeting at 7PM.

Joani Geltman, MSW
Save the date for special guest speaker Joani Geltman, MSW, a prominent parenting expert and author who will be speaking on the topic of Adolescent Psychology. Wednesday, April 29th, 7-9PM at the Wilson Middle School Auditorium. The event is open to the public and appropriate for parents of kids 10-18 years old. Copies of Joani’s book: A Survival Guide to Parenting Teens, Talking To Your Kids about Sexting, Drinking, Drugs and Other Things that Freak You Out will be on sale in the lobby of the auditorium before & after her seminar ($17 plus tax).
