HFW Challenge

The Lilja Lions HFW Challenge has begun! Each Grade has a list of High Frequency Words that the children work towards mastering by the end of the year. Your child should have brought the information home last week. 10 HFW from each level have been chosen as pledge words. 50% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be given to Dog B.O.N.E.S., of MA therapy dog program. Every child that turns in a pledge sheet will be placed in a lottery for a Reading Partner session with Maisy and Ms. Marcher. To find out more about Dog B.O.N.E.S., please visit their website. Lila Fair
The Lilja Fair has had a date change and will now be on Sunday, May 31st from 1:00-5:00 PM.

Box Tops
Thank you to Janine Kayser for coordinating our Box Tops for Education, we are receiving a check for $273.90. Thank you to all of the Lilja families that sent in their box tops!


PTA Upcoming Events

Winter Dance
Announcing the Lilja Hoedown Dance! This Friday March 27th; 6:30 - 8:30pm. Please join us for a fun night of dancing, activities and refreshments! $7 per person with a cap of $25 per family includes entertainment by DJ Mike, fun crafts, activities, snacks and refreshments. You can preorder Pizza for your family at a $1/slice. Cash or check (payable to Lilja PTA) will be accepted at the door. RSVP and volunteer to help here. All proceeds go to the Lilja PTA who make our school an awesome place for our Lions to learn and have fun! Can't wait to see you there!

4th Grade Fundraising
The 4th Grade Fundraising Committee will be having a raffle at Lilja Dance with lots of fantastic prizes to win. Some of the prizes being raffled off are signed cookbooks, chocolates, jiu jitsu lessons, a free session with a professional photographer, acupuncture visits, painted birdhouses, restaurants gift cards and more. Please support the 4th Grade class, and bring some extra cash to buy some raffle tickets. We will be selling 2 tickets for $5 or 5 tickets for $10. The prizes will be raffled off at the end of the night. You do not need to be present at the event to win! If you can not attend the Lilja Dance but want to purchase tickets, please contact either Liz Gorman or Nancy Bloomstein. We really appreciate your support!

Early Release Pizza and Movie
April 7th we will be showing Big Hero at the event and it will run from 12:10-2:15PM. The registration deadline is Thursday, April 2nd. The registration flyer can be found in the virtual backpack. 

April 15th Early Release Pizza and Movie registration deadline will be Monday, April 13th. The registration form will be in the virtual backpack the first week of April. Movie TBD.

PTA Meeting
Join us for our next meeting Wednesday April 8th at 7:00 PM. The topic will be multi-aged classrooms and is open to all families who would like to learn more about the current 1-2s and the new 3-4 classrooms being added at Lilja School. Please join us in the Lilja Library.  Ms. Starkel, Ms. Quimby, Ms. Altchek and Ms. McEnaney will attend to answer any general questions that families may have about multiage classrooms and, more specifically, about the new 3-4s!

Restaurant Night
Save yourself a night of cooking and eat at Boloco in Wellesley Center Tuesday, April 7th from 12:00PM-7:00 PM. 18% of the proceeds will go to Lilja. You must present the flyer that can be found in the virtual backpack.

Outside Events

Joani Geltman, MSW
Save the date for special guest speaker Joani Geltman, MSW, a prominent parenting expert and author who will be speaking on the topic of Adolescent Psychology.  Wednesday, April 29th, 7-9PM at the Wilson Middle School Auditorium. The event is open to the public and appropriate for parents of kids 10-18 years old. Copies of Joani’s book: A Survival Guide to Parenting Teens, Talking To Your Kids about Sexting, Drinking, Drugs and Other Things that Freak You Out will be on sale in the lobby of the auditorium before & after her seminar ($17 plus tax). Natick After Prom Party Fundraiser
Come check out the Natick High School Craft Boutique on Saturday March 28th 10 am - 4 pm. It will have a great variety of vendors showcasing their talents.
