Lilja Carnival Raised $9K!Thank you for joining us at the Lilja Carnival! Together, we raised an incredible $9K, which will help fund guest speakers at Lilja and provide much-needed support for our amazing educators throughout the year. A special shoutout goes to the 50+ parent and caregiver volunteers whose dedication and hard work made this event such a success. Your support helped make this one of our biggest fundraisers, and we’re so grateful for the Lilja community’s continued involvement. |

Midday Mischief on Sunday, October 27 from 12-2 p.m.Join us for one of Lilja’s favorite spooky traditions—a fun-filled costume party for the whole school! Bring your family for dancing, crafts, pizza, Kona Ice, games, and trunk-or-treating at cars beautifully decorated by Lilja families. Volunteers are needed to help make this event happen! Volunteer your time here for event support or to host a trunk! Candy or non-candy treat donations are also needed and can be dropped off at 68 Washington Street—leave them in the collection box on the side porch. |

Pumpkin Festival at Tilly's Bacon Street Farm, Sunday, October 20 2-5 p.m.Fall is here and the Pumpkin Festival at Tilly's Bacon Street Farm is right around the corner. Check out local small businesses and artisans, with something for every age — including face painting, music, local food demos, bounce houses, crafts, and more. Proceeds are donated to Natick Public Schools. |

What does the PTO fund?When you contribute to the Lilja PTO, you're helping shape the future of every Lilja student. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $48,000 during the 2023-2024 school year, which directly benefited our students and educators. Consider making a donation today! PTO funding supports a variety of initiatives each year, including (but not limited to): Cultural Arts Events/Guest Speakers – $17,000 Staff Support – $8,300 Field Trips – $7,000 Events (Carnival, Midday Mischief, etc.) – $6,000 (lower in 23’-24’ due to the carnival postponement) Teacher Mini Grants/Classroom Supplies – $4,700 Wally Vaughn Scholarship – $2,000 (awarded to two high school graduates who attended Lilja) The Beloved Lilja Fish Tank – $1,500

Restaurant Coordinator NeededHelp organize 4-5 restaurant nights throughout the year where a portion of the proceeds supports Lilja as a fundraiser. If you have an idea for a different fundraiser or community event, email pto@liljapto.org.

Date Change - 4th Grade Committee Update!Join fellow 4th-grade parents for drinks on Wednesday, October 9 (new date!) at 7 p.m. at Morse Tavern! We’ll brainstorm fundraising ideas to support 4th-grade activities as our kids begin their final year at Lilja. The committee will also reach out directly to families about end of year collection and fundraising opportunities.

Didn’t Score a Spot in ASAP? Consider Enrichment for After School.Elementary Enrichment courses are held once a week for eight weeks. There are two sessions per year: Fall/Winter and Spring. This session we have courses at Ben-Hem, Brown, Lilja and Memorial. Classes are designed and led by NPS staff and focus on hands-on exploration and collaborative fun, and open to students who attend the school at which each course is offered.

Managing Anxiety WorkshopSpark Kindness is hosting an event on Tuesday, October 8th at 7 p.m., featuring national expert Lynn Lyons, LICSW, who will be discussing “Managing Anxiety in Our Children (and Ourselves).” This free event at the Natick High School Auditorium will offer practical tips for parents, caregivers, and educators to support kids through anxiety.
